For the past nine years, Bharatanatyam has been an important part of Nithila Bharathirajan's life, teaching her discipline, resilience, and the beauty of storytelling through dance. Through years of dedicated practice, performances, and learning, the art form has helped shape her confidence, perseverance, and appreciation for India's rich cultural heritage. As she reaches this milestone, she is incredibly grateful for the unwavering guidance of her Guru, Smt. Parvatha Chidambaram, whose patience and wisdom have inspired her throughout her journey, as well as for the constant love, encouragement, and support of her family and friends.
Nithila is a rising sophmore at Pittsford Mendon High School. Outside of dance, she has been involved in Odyssey of the Mind and Model UN, where she has developed her creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. She also enjoys giving back to her community by volunteering at the Pittsford Fire Department and the Pittsford Library. In her free time, she likes solving puzzles, drawing, playing volleyball, and watching movies.
In addition to Bharatanatyam, Nithila has played table tennis for four years and field hockey for two years. She also studied both the piano and violin for four years, experiences that strengthened her musical foundation and deepened her appreciation for rhythm, expression, and artistry in dance. Looking ahead, she hopes to continue pursuing her passions while embracing new opportunities to learn, grow, and make a positive impact on those around her.
